An attractive and elegant rosewood mantel timepiece. The case, surmounted by a brass carrying handle, has bevelled glass to the top, both sides and the front and rear doors of the case. It has a squared top proceeding via a well shaped moulding to the opening front door and then via a bombé moulding to a further plinth with blocked wooden feet.
The silvered brass dial is signed for the maker ‘John Walker, 68 Cornhill, London.’ It has engraved spandrels in the corners, Roman numerals for the dial and Breguet style hands.
