A PARTICULARLY ATTRACTIVE FRENCH GREAT EXHIB ITION TIMEPIECE WITH ALARM. CIRCA 1850.

The clock is of typical form and stands under its glass dome on an ebonised and brass strung base, the whole, some 10" high.

The inverted Y shaped plates are nicely engraved. The tiny chapter ring, with Roman numerals and moon hands. The central alarm disc is of silvered brass. The movement is of eight days duration. The alarm is set and wound via two pull cords which go through the base of the clock, thus enabling it to be set and wound without removing the glass hood.
