AN ATTRACTIVE WOODEN DIALLED STRIKING DIAL CLOCK SIGNED FOR THE RETAILER, KEMP, BROADWAY. CIRCA 1808.

An extremely attractive concave wooden dialled dial clock. The thick wooden dial with its original background has the signature "S. Kemp, Broadway". The clock has unusual brass hands and a nicely cast concave brass bezel with a thin mahogany surround outside.

The eight day fusee movement with four pillars and with shouldered plates, is stamped on the front plate "T. Thwaites 4243". It strikes the hours on a bell mounted above the movement. These Thwaites movements were always of fine quality and this one is no exception. The number dates it to 1808.
