LINFORD, PADDINGTON. A GOOD LATE 18TH / EARLY 19TH CENTURY BRASS BOUND AND EBONISED MINIATURE BRACKET CLOCK WITH 3.5" DIAL.

This attractive little clock has a particularly good quality case with a brass mould to the inner aspect of the front door and the edge of the case on either side. The base, which rests on bracket feet, is also brass bound. The breakarch top is surmounted by a carrying handle.

The single train eight day movement has attractively shaped plates and the regulating nut for the pendulum is situated roughly one third of the way up the rod to simplify its use.

The cream painted dial, with Roman numerals and blued steel hands, is signed in the arch. There is delicate gilt decoration to the four corners and around the maker’s name.

Height with/without handle: 10" / 8.75" (25 / 22 cms.)

Price band: A
