31547C.W A particularly nice mahogany drop dial clock. The elegant case has a nicely shaped cast brass bezel and a well shaped mahogany surround. It has unusual ears to the side of the trunk and the trunk itself is delicately inlaid with brass and ebony. It has a curved opening door in the curved base and doors at the side to facilitate the removal and fitting of the pendulum. The 12" painted convex dial has its original background and is signed for the maker ‘Garland, Plymouth.’ The fine blued steel hands are of spade shape. The eight day gut fusee movement has unusually shaped plates with a cut away at the bottom and shaped corners to the top. It has an anchor escapement and a steel rod pendulum. Length: 24.5" (62 cms.) |
