The four pillar chain fusee movement has an extra wheel in the train to give the month duration. It has a most unusually shaped escape wheel with enlarged flattened teeth to the half deadbeat pallets. The movement has large plain pillars screwed to the backplate and is stamped for the maker ‘A. Ingram’ and numbered 2555. At this date signing and numbering the movement was unusual and again underlines the importance of the clock.

Price band: B

The maker, ‘A. Ingram’ is noted as working from Woodgreen from around 1870.
