An exceptional example of this sort after model in superb condition both bodily and mechanically.

The Jaguar Mark II saloon was produced from 1959 to 1967. In its day it was considered a luxury small saloon and, with the larger engine sizes, particularly rapid. Indeed the 3.8L versions were used as police motorway cars and also as get away cars by villains! It had a monocoque construction, as opposed to the chassis and body on the earlier saloons and the XK range. In 3.8L form it was a particularly quick car with genuine 120 mile an hour top speed and acceleration to match. They are still a quick road car and a classic that can be used for everyday motoring.

This particular Mark II is the most sort after of the range, being a manual with overdrive and having the 3.8L twin overhead cam XK engine. This engine was used for the E-Type, but was in a slightly higher state of tune in that car with three SU carburettors rather than two. The car is finished in one of the most attractive colour schemes of opalescent silver blue with blue leather interior.

The large history file shows that some years ago the car was the subject of a complete body off restoration by Leaping Cats. Since then the car has had limited use and is still in superb structural and cosmetic condition. It has recently had significant expenditure to make the paintwork flawless. It comes with a Heritage Certificate confirming it was built in 1963 as a 3.8L manual overdrive car for the British market and, apart from a change of gear box from the original Moss box to the Jaguar syncromesh box which was used from about 1965 onwards, is a matching numbers car. It has had a Kenlowe fan fitted and electronic ignition but, apart from this, is to original specification.

The car drives exceptionally well and is a fine high speed cruiser to this day. This car is in exceptionally good condition with flawless bodywork and excellent chrome. The interior which was renewed during its earlier restoration is in superb order. Mechanically it is also excellent with no issues to the engine, transmission or chassis

Like all the cars we sell I have owned and used the car for some time including a continental trip where it performed faultlessly. It is an excellent example of this fast appreciating model.
