The single train, chain fusee movement of fine quality has an anchor escapement, and a 3.75″ square engraved and silvered dial with Roman numerals, signed for the maker J Walker, Princes Street, Leicester Square, London, and is surrounded by a silvered sight ring.
The brass pendulum has the useful feature of a raised adjusting screw to enable easy pendulum adjustment. It has a pendulum hold fast screw for transportation or movement between rooms.
Height: 8.5″ (21.5 cm.)
James Walker is noted as working in London in 1832, and this could be the same J Walker who was noted as working in Clerkenwell from 1805 to 1815. We have had a number of clocks by Walker and they are usually of fine quality.
