An attractive grande sonnerie Dachluhr.  The case, with the early feature of an opening hood door and lift out trunk door, has finely figured veneers with boxwood stringing.  There is a triangular shaped mould between the hood section and the lift out door and a typical under curved base.

The dial is of milk glass with a nicely engine turned and gilded bezel.  It has blued steel beetle and poker hands.  The clock has a wood rod pendulum with brass bob.

The eight day weight driven grande sonnerie movement is of the usual fine quality.  It strikes the hours and the quarters on two gongs mounted on the seatboard which is secured in the case via two wooden buttresses.  The three brass weights are suspended from small unpierced pulleys, which is also an early feature.

Height:    35″ (89 cm)
