The engraved gilt-brass case still with its original gilding with spring-loaded strut support, swivel foot and folding handle with sliding dust cover to the rear.

The silvered dial finely engraved with a floral and leaf decoration with engraved silvered mask and adjustable calendar below; Roman numerals and blued steel fleur-de-lys hands signed Hunt & Roskell on the chapter.

The eight day duration movement with lever escapement.

The gilt-tooled red leather, blue velvet and silk lined fitted travelling case with recess for the winding key and signed for T.MARTIN & Co succrs to HENRY CAPT 151 REGENT STREET LONDON.

This is a very early calendar strut timepiece made before 1845 when the Cole numbering system started.

Case height: 5″ (10.7 cm.)
